Dear Reader,

What news! It seems that the indomitable Miss Phillips has caught the eye of Lord Vaskanth. His lordship has been observed frequenting the company of our American heiress. Although never without a proper chaperone at hand, and Lord Vaskanth possessing an unimpeachable reputation, his obvious interest has sent everyone atwitter. Romantic secluded strolls through the gardens, rowing at the lake, and spotted several times dancing and conversing at the ball, it bids speculation as to whether his lordship plans to offer for Miss Phillips straight away. Or will another lady steal his interest? Rumor has it that there is at least one young woman vying for his affections.

With scandalous meetings afoot among the attendees, and one angry paternal outburst already, this author blushes to the pen imagining what is next in store. The first evening otherwise was a marvel to hear told. The ballroom arranged like a fairy forest, the ball saw many maidens dressed in fine gowns with complementary fairy wings dancing among floral arrangements for the occasion. A midsummer night can contain many secrets beneath the full moon, however, and I eagerly wait to pen the gossip as it arrives to me for you, my loyal reader.
